DEAR MOMS! 7 CRUCIAL ULTRASOUND MILESTONES YOU SHOULDN'T MISS

Regular prenatal check-ups are vital for your baby's future development. Therefore, to ensure a healthy pregnancy, expectant mothers should keep in mind these 7 important ultrasound milestones!

• Milestone 1: One week after a missed period or a positive pregnancy test. This is to check if the embryo has successfully implanted in the uterus.

• Milestone 2 (Weeks 7-8): Ultrasound to detect the fetal heartbeat and measure the embryo's length to ensure proper development according to its gestational age, as well as to calculate the estimated due date.

• Milestone 3 (Weeks 11-13): First-trimester screening ultrasound, nuchal translucency (NT) measurement, and Double Test/NIPT to screen early for Down syndrome and other major congenital anomalies.

• Milestone 4 (Weeks 14-18): Ultrasound to measure cervical length and screen for premature birth risks for mothers with a history of preterm labor (or between weeks 16-22 for mothers without a history of premature birth).

• Milestone 5 (Weeks 18-22): First 4D morphological ultrasound (anomaly scan) to examine for fetal abnormalities and allow for timely medical interventions.

• Milestone 6 (Weeks 28-32): Second 4D morphological ultrasound to assess fetal growth, amniotic fluid levels, the placenta, the umbilical cord, and more.

• Milestone 7 (Week 34 onwards): Ultrasounds every 2 weeks (for pregnancies over 34 weeks) and once a week (for pregnancies over 36 weeks) to closely monitor fetal growth.
